381 Companies Use ILS to Recruit Investigators
Bend,OR – Jan. 8, 2014
Investigator Location Services, Inc. (ILS), the largest study broker, reported the annual operational results. Since the company’s launch in July, 2001, 381 sponsor and CRO companies have used ILS to recruit over 8,800 investigators on 894 protocols. This includes difficult to place projects. ILS investigator recruiting services are free to sponsors and CROs as investigators pay ILS fees.
Finding experienced investigators for clinical trials remains one of the greatest obstacles to rapidly completing studies especially since protocol complexity continues to increase. This leads to an increased demand for experienced investigators who can evaluate studies appropriatefor their site and reject those they will not be able to perform on.
ILS is an informatics driven company whose proprietary investigator database now contains over 27,000 experienced U.S. investigators and 1,200+ experienced Canadian investigators in all medical specialties and practice settings.
Investigators are targeted by multiple criteria including medical specialty, research experience, practice setting and location. Instant email broadcasts rapidly identify interested investigators with current capacity for additional trials matching client specifications. Site Questionnaires are sent to further qualify investigators.
More Sponsors and CROs Use ILS
“In the last 12 months the number of sponsors and CROs using ILS to recruit investigators expanded significantly including 50 new projects in 2013” said Joe Bollert, Ph.D., President of ILS. “Sponsors and CROs, including 9 new clients in 2013, come to ILS for initial investigator recruitment, mid-project recruitment and rescue investigator recruitment. We can literally reach hundreds of investigators in any specialty in seconds and solicit their interest in aclinical trial. No one else has this type of instant access to such a large volume of experienced investigators.”
Motivated & Experienced Investigators
The key to ILS’s success and repeat business from sponsors and CROs is that experienced investigatorswho sign up through ILS are extra motivated to perform. Investigators agree to pay ILS a fee when the study launches and only sign up if they feel the study is a good match for their site. Importantly, ILS investigators typically have ten or more years of clinical research experience which allows careful consideration of studies being presented.
